The steadily increasing research and development activities in
many countries in Waterside Security, which in Europe also
is reflected in the special programme on Security under EU’s
most recently started 7th Framework Programme, underline the
need for structured procedures for international exchange of
information on R & D plans and results on Waterside Security
(WSS). Therefore, it is timely to organize the first
international conference on Waterside Security and the
Technical University of Denmark will be the venue for the
conference during the days 25th through 28th August 2008.
The conference will cover 3 main areas with several
sub-areas of WSS. The 3 main areas are: (1) Underwater
Systems, (2) Above Water Systems and (3) Interdisciplinary
Aspects of WSS. A full list of topics can be found under the
item: “Conference Topics”
Papers dealing with theoretical, computational, experimental
and practical results and experiences and with technologies
and equipment for WSS are most welcome. The conference shall
form a forum for exchange of information on results already
achieved and on plans to be carried out in the future in all
fields of Waterside Security.
Period for the conference
Monday 25th August through Thursday 28th August, 2008
Conference venue
The conference will be held at the Technical University of
Denmark, in Kgs. Lyngby, about 10 km North of Downtown
Copenhagen.

Exhibition
An exhibition by leading international manufacturers of
state-of-the-art technologies, equipment and services for
all aspects of Waterside Security will form an integrated
part of the conference and will be arranged in a central
area of the conference space. As the conference participants
include several senior level decision makers in exploitation
of facilities for WSS as well as top scientists and
engineers involved in development and use of WSS equipment,
the exhibition constitutes a very important opportunity for
hard- and software manufacturers and for providers of
consulting and scientific services to meet with their
customers. Like the conference, the exhibition will focus on
an audience representing the civil, the commercial, the
public and the military sectors involved with all aspects of
Waterside Security.
Who should attend?
Scientists and engineers from universities, research
institutes, government organizations and industry, military
and police officers, and other decision makers responsible
for Waterside Security in their countries.
